Shadow Step

Be a nimble fox ninja creeping through a moonlit temple garden, from bamboo groves and koi-pond bridges to a creaky teahouse and the lantern vault, hiding in shadows and sending grumpy guards to sleep with a puff of smoke. Every board is a little heist to crack, and every star you earn opens new chapters, bonus rooftop heists and new outfits for the fox.

How to play

Move one spot per turn to reach the moon gate. After each of your steps the guards take theirs: never end a turn on a red spot lit by a guard's lantern, and read the arrows, amber dots and pause signs that show what each guard does next. Shadows hide you, and stepping into a guard from behind or the side puts it to sleep. Carry the lantern home and finish within par for three stars.

Controls

• Tap a glowing spot or swipe to step, tap Wait to let the guards move
• Arrow keys or WASD to step, Space to wait, Z to undo, R to restart, H for a hint
• Controller: D-pad or left stick to step, A to wait, B to undo, Y to restart, X for a hint, Menu for the chapter map
